Curriculum
Our commitment is to shape the curriculum into one that supports the needs of all students, that fosters learning in as many and diverse ways as possible, and that gives the student a voice as a learner.
Our focus on engagement and innovation has been supported and extended through participation in the Learning to Learn project since 2003. We have introduced specialist and interest courses ranging from our nine focus sports, to landscape design, pedal prix, psychology 10-12, jewellery making and automotive. Such courses reflect the interests of our students and the capabilities of teachers who are invited to shape innovative and enriched learning pathways for students.
We have shared our approaches to learning and developing school culture with educators from SA and Victoria through our Learning Expos.

Our focus on learning has led to the evolution of a Learning Creed based on four key understandings.
- At MGHS we know we learn best when we have clear DIALOGUE as we learn.
- At MGHS we know we learn best when we use INQUIRY as we learn.
- At MGHS we know we learn best when we make CONNECTIONS as we learn.
- At MGHS we know we learn best when we understand HOW we learn.
As a community of learners we will develop a shared understanding of the Learning Creed and its purpose.
