Governing Council
Success in education depends on strong partnerships between educators, parents, families and communities.
The character and culture of Mount Gambier High School is built on the strength and diversity of the community behind it, and you, the parents/caregivers and families are the foundation of that community. We need you to share your ideas, skills and culture to help us build a vibrant school, where every student and their family belongs. Involvement on governing council is one way you can share your perspective.
Governing councils are bodies that govern a school or preschool. Governing councils work with the Principal to help set and monitor the direction of the school.
The Mount Gambier High School Governing Council meets twice a term on Mondays from 6.00pm.
Working on any council will involve some commitment of time, including time for governing council meetings, or if you are a member of a subcommittee. Additional time may be needed if you take on extra duties, like a chairperson, treasurer, or secretary. There will also be special events where you will represent the governing council, be asked to provide feedback, or represent the school at community events, like at the annual general meeting.
If you would like to be involved on the Mount Gambier High School Governing Council, you can access an Expression of Interest Form via https://forms.office.com/r/maG23aWyU0
If you would like more information about the Governing Council and the role parents/caregivers can play supporting the school, please contact the school on dl.0784.info@schools.sa.edu.au
