On April 7, Year 11 student James McGinn and Head of Senior Years Samantha Brown attended a Tuesday evening meeting with the Rotary Club of Mount Gambier West to share James’s selection and involvement as a 2026 Rural Youth Ambassador.
The visit provided an opportunity to seek support towards travel costs associated with attending program forums in Adelaide.
Samantha offered an overview of the program, while James spoke confidently about his experiences to date, how he plans to make the most of the opportunity, and how any funding would support his participation. He also responded thoughtfully to questions from Rotarians in attendance.
The club has generously offered to support James with a donation of $700, a contribution that is greatly appreciated by both James and the Mount Gambier High School community.
Later in the year, we look forward to returning to a club meeting, where James will provide an update on his journey, including the outcomes of the program and the skills and insights he has developed through his involvement.
